모노.쿠투(Mono.kultur)의 열 번째 이슈는 이란 쿠르드족 최초의 영화 감독 바흐만 고바디(Bahman Ghobadi)를 인터뷰 합니다.

그는 국가 없이 이란과 이라크, 터키, 시리아의 국경지대에 거주하며 끊이지 않는 분쟁 속에서도 문화적 동질성을 잃지 않고 있는 쿠드르족 이라는 뿌리에서 비롯된 자신의 정체성과 미학에 관해 심도 깊은 이야기를 들려줍니다.

쿠드르족으로 태어나 살며 온 몸으로 마주했던 시린 진실, 이를 영화로 옮기는 과정, 예술과 현실 사이의 관계와 창작자로서의 사명에 이르기까지 바흐만 고바디의 영화 세계를 조명하는 인터뷰가 2004년 발표한 그의 장편영화 ‘거북이도 난다(Turtle Can Fly)’의 스틸컷과 함께 수록되었습니다.

열 번째 모노.쿠투를 통해 그가 카메라에 담아낸 잔혹한 현실, 그럼에도 불구하고 그의 영화를 빚어낸 세계와 삶에 대한 강한 애정을 느낄 수 있을 것입니다.
